Cellular characteristics

Type I

Keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma

Type II

Non-keratinizing (transitional) carcinoma

• Without lymphoid stroma (intermediate cell)

• With lymphoid stroma (lympho-epithelial)

Type III

Undifferentiated (anaplastic) carcinoma

• Without lymphoid stroma (clear cell)

• With lymphoid stroma (lympho-epithelial)
